Tuning guide for the '06 Remains from MstrKey at PBN...
Efficiency is tough since not all guns are created equal. I'm getting a ton of shots on mine so try these settings and tricks and see what happens.
- Dwell 9.6(stock board)
- LPR two threads in from flush.
- HPR chrony to 285ish
- Lube LPR and HPR(make sure you have the two LPR screws in the proper order, they are NOT the same).
- Two drops of oil on the ram shaft
- One drop of oil in the ASA and fire it through the gun(be sure to use synthetic paintball gun oil) (Also, be sure to us AKA Extreme Lube ~ Editor)
- Barrel sized according to paint. Do the blowgun test. Meaning you should have to blow it through with a bit of force, but not too much.
- Fresh battery. Just because you CAN use the same battery for three months doesn't mean you should. Use duracell regulars or energizers only. You need the high end of batteries for your gun, not the low end.
- Make sure there are no leaks anywhere, especially near the oring that seals the LPR body inside the gun body, and on the inner hose and in your macro fittings.
- Use a good quality tank regulator. If it's not a crossfire, guerilla air, mac dev, it's probably not good enough. High flow = better efficiency.
- Cp regs are usually good but sometimes you get a crappy one. Make sure yours is up to par.
- Use a decent ASA for your tank. Make sure it has good air flow through it. Small air inlets restrict air flow.....which is bad. Stick to any of the TOP brand asas.
- Make sure your ram bumper isn't sticking on the hose barb under it. If it is, it will cause drag.
The simplest trick to getting great efficiency is to run your HPR high. This usually means a lower dwell and a slightly higher LPR setting to get within legal chrony limits but that's how you do it. You want the most air through the valve in the shortest amount of time. It should be noted that as you increase efficiency, usually your consistancy will get worse.
